Surroundings and
activities
The village: The El Olmo house is located at the edge of the
village El Rasillo and it offers a view with beautiful contrasts
between the blue water of the lake, the green of the forests and
the brown colors of the stones of the old houses in the village.
In the surroundings it is possible to spot animals such as roe
deer, deer and foxes.
Activities: The lake is located at only 1 kilometer distance from
the house and it is a popular place for sunbathing and swimming.
Water bikes and canoes can be rented.
At a 3 kilometer distance, in a very narrow valley, there is the
small village Ortigosa, the two neighborhoods of the village that
are located opposite sites of the valley are connected with two
old bridges. The caves of Ortigosa are worthwhile visiting.
The owners of the house will gladly inform you about the
possibilities for visiting the Rioja de bodegas (wine cellars),
and about car trips through the wine region, along monasteries and
along the traces of the dinosaurs that once lived in this region.
The mountains, and the natural park Cebollera, are also worthwhile
exploring.
In summary, it is possible to quietly enjoy the house, the old
village and its surrounding; and there are opportunities for water
sport, mountain hiking, and bird watching (including a wide
diversity of birds of prey). |
